Massaging the Neck and Shoulders

I have had several clients ask me about teaching couples massage classes. I would like to do this someday, but I am not ready to take that step yet. In the meantime, here's a video showing you how to massage the neck and shoulders. This lady does a lot of similar moves to mine, so perhaps your significant other can attempt to re-create what I do for you in the office at home.

Why Does Massage Work in Athletes?

There is limited research on the biochemical processes that take place to decrease muscle soreness in athletes after massage. This article rules out several potential reasons why athletes experience faster recovery rates and decreased muscle soreness after massage. Unfortunately, we still have little concrete evidence as to why massage decreases pain. I find this topic very interesting. I know from personal experience that massage decreases my muscle pain, and it feels great! There are a lot of theories out there, but no solid evidence of its effectiveness. If anyone has more information than me (from a reputable source), I'd love to read it! I can't wait until they find out why it makes us feel so good. Until then, I'll just have to be satisfied with my personal feelings about its effectiveness.

Take Advantage of This Sweet Holiday Treat

Sugarplums may be dancing in your head, but those sweet treats will pale in comparison to the yummy massage you will receive with me in December. Decrease all your stress and cold weather aches with a peppermint scented massage that includes warm towel treatments and hot stone work on the back. I'll set the holiday ambiance with vanilla scented candles and some relaxing Christmas piano music.

After your "sweet treat," you will be invited to lounge in my waiting room while I apply warm towels to your feet and make you a steaming cup of hot cocoa, stirred with a peppermint stick and topped off with marshmallows. There is no extra charge for this service, just ask for the holiday treat at your next massage!

Also, don't forget that between November 27, 2009 and December 26, 2009, if you buy 4 online Gift Certificates for your loved ones, you will receive a 5th massage free to gift to yourself or another person of your choice. The 5th massage will be e-mailed from Caring Touch Massage, LLC within 48 hours of the original purchase.
